"Play Me My Song" - the new ReGenesis CD, "Here It Comes Again" reviewed by Alan Hewitt.

Well, at long last the UK's very own tribute band has put together a live CD from one of their shows last year and it only goes to prove what I said in my review of their show in TWR - you really will believe that you are back in 1973/74; these boys really are that good!

Drawing from the Genesis repertoire of the "Selling England By The Pound" and "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway", this is a live CD high on drama and emotion. Even Steve Hackett, who saw the band a few days after I did, was able to say that now he could understand what the fans saw in the band.

Musically, the presentation of the classic material is faultless from the grandiose opening of "Watcher Of The Skies" to the high drama of both "In The Cage" and "Supper's Ready", the band present an evening long lost in the mists of time and memory. For those of us unfortunate enough not to have seen the "real thing", this CD encapsulates all the emotion and humour that made the original shows so special. Give the CD a listen, and try to catch the band's live show if you can, if you see a guy wearing a manic smile at the front of the stage - it's probably me!
